Support

Found the man. Still no dog.

There is, for reasons unclear, a tip jar.

I should also probably clarify that I don't need it.

A glass tip jar containing glowing cyan, violet, fuchsia, and foxfire wisps.

Awoo.ltd, what I publish here, and the various questionable projects surrounding it aren't dependent on donations. I'm going to keep making things regardless. That part was never really in question.

But if something I've made has genuinely been useful to you, taught you something, or sent you away wanting to build something of your own, that means more to me than simply having finished the project. If you decide to leave something behind because of that, I'll genuinely appreciate it. Not because I need it, but because it means something I made mattered to someone else too.

Where will it go?

Probably back into the workshop.

Support will probably find its way back into the workshop, whether that's components, tools, hosting, software, or whatever strange thing the next project manages to justify. It may also become coffee, which is less impressive but historically rather effective.

None of it is essential. I'm not relying on this to pay any bills, and nobody needs to contribute to keep anything here alive. It's free forever. Always.*

A dark coffee cup lit by cyan, violet, fuchsia, and foxfire-orange light.

*Subject to reality remaining broadly cooperative.

Evidence of appreciation

A different set of pixels.

Where practical, applications I publish through Awoo will include a distinct Awoo Supporter theme.*

It's cosmetic.

No extra functionality. No deliberately crippled free version. Supporting me doesn't make the software work better.

Work in progress preview for the Awoo Supporter theme.

*Any additional supporter benefits will be listed here as required.

The short version

Nothing is owed.

  • Look at my photos.
  • Look at something obscure I built.
  • Steal a cool idea.
  • Use the software.
  • Find a weird edge case and silently lose respect for me.

That's enough.

The Ko-fi link is there for anyone who wants to leave something behind on their way through.

And if something here sends you away to build something of your own, even better.
